After an interesting visit to Kulturen in Lund we’re ready for some food hiking! We made a pure foodie tour in Lund and explored the most delicious foodie shops. Most of the deli’s are located on the Klostergatan street. And as in most Swedish cities (like we saw in Stockholm and Gothenburg), there is a Saluhallen in Lund.
Rå Epok
Sustainable and delicious take away sushi, there is also room in the shop to eat.
Grand Deli
Deli shop of Grand Hotel. They offer good food for a good price. Delicacies like oil, vinegar, sweets and take away meals. Just like at Grand Hotel the focus is on local and organic produce.
Bengtsons Ost
Bengtsons Ost, founded in 1951, offers around 350 varieties of cheese. Four of them are organic and about ten cheeses are from Skåne. They have a delicious blue cheese, made with sheep’s milk, from the North of Sweden: Boltjärn blå.
St. Jacobs Stenugnsbageri
Local bakery. Open for coffee and lunch as well.
Vegeriet, Saluhallen
Delicious tomato soup and veggie lasagne. Vegetarian food only.
Bjärefågel, Saluhallen
At Bjärefågel everything of the chicken is used. No waste! The chickens are kept free range and they live twice as long as ’normal’ chickens. They can not go outside because the Swedish climate can get to harsh for them.
Ahlgrens Konfektyr, Saluhallen
For chocolate lovers! Also organic and fair trade.
Tehuset JAVA
Some of the tea and coffee is organic. Tehuset JAVA also sells its famous Lund tea blend, green or black tea.
Hotel Concordia
This cozy four-star hotel offers breakfast which is partly organic (milk, eggs, fruit) and fair trade (coffee, tea).
Rob
Do you have any food tour operators to recommend in Lund?
My wife and I are going to be there in June.
Thanks!
