Hällåkra Vingård (vineyard) was founded in 2003 when it started with the first 700 plants. It started as a hobby of the owners Håkan and Lotta Hansson. After they returned from Stockholm to Håkan’s roots in Anderslöv, they wanted to produce a delicious red wine just for themselves. The grape varieties they use for the red wine are Rondo (90%), Regent (5%) and Leon Millot (5%).
The white wine is made of Solaris (70%) and Pinot Noir (30%). Solaris is a grape related to Pinot Gris and Riesling, which, in the Northern countries, is used as a white substitute for Rondo.
Their plans for the future? The introduction of a sparkling wine next year. At Hällåkra Vingård they think sparkling wine will become a big part of the Swedish wine production, because the grapes that are best suited for the Swedish climate have a high acid grade, and this produces the best dry sparkling wine.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy a glass of wine and lunch or dinner on the terrace or in the winery. Check the opening hours on the website. hallakra.com
